This is a blog about my why. I felt compelled to talk about it because it is the exact reason why I am working on improving my quality of life.
As the economy continues to suffer the online community is thriving. The tides have shifted to work from home. Although a lot of the work-from-home jobs are for self-starters, there are some out there that teaches and guides the Individual.
My Why
A little bit of background about who I am. I am a RN and have been for over 17yrs now. Prior to that I worked in Medical billing for 15yrs. In between all of that I acquired a husband and 6 children and now a grandson.
Over the years the long 12hr night shifts and or day shifts were starting to take a toll on me because I am not able to spend a whole lot of quality time with my children without being exhausted. Spreading myself thin seemed to be the theme.
I watched my grandmother in her prime work long hours and travel to and from on public transportation. She had a job where she worked overnight to maintain another person’s home. When she came home she looked so worn and tired. Back then being so young I didn’t understand what that was all about.
When she became a little older almost to retirement, there was so much wear and tear on her body she then had to have surgery. It just seemed that the surgery stole her quality of life.
I watched helplessly not being able to give her the life I thought she deserved. Although, she never complained I always felt she wanted to do more for her family. In addition to the many hats, she wore add caregiver and counselor. She would help anybody who needed help.
So my mindset has always been if you see a need and can fill it then that is what you do.
Fast Forward.
In 2007 I knew that there were things I could be doing online. My family had grown so fast that the medical billing job wasn’t enough along with my husband’s income. So then I went back to school to elevate my situation which I learned was enough either.
Remember what my grandmother experienced? I don’t want that to be my and my husband’s story for our children. Being able to help them when needed and live a comfortable rest of our days is my goal.
So I searched some companies and came up with sites that did not offer any help. Took my money and I was left to figure it out. I stopped looking for a while and just chalked it up to that doesn’t work.
Under those circumstances, as the years went by I didn’t really press the issue anymore. I was resigned to keep living this awful rat race. Although I kept seeing all the advertisements, I was still apprehensive.
Fast forward to 2019. Because of the need and desire to still change my situation, I started to look again. The truth is I don’t remember how I ended up here. I’ll chalk it up as Devine Intervention, to say the least.
For the past two years, I have been building an awesome business that is going to help me reach my 5-year goals and beyond.
What do we offer?
This business community comes with a way to work on your why. In addition to one on one mentorship, there is also a plethora of training in your back office. Business meetings are held almost every day, and Education and updates to your business on a weekly basis.
The problem with most people they don’t show up. That is the only way you fail in this business. A saying we use in our community is “SHOW UP TO GO UP”. We do have life things that happen. I have found that if you have a schedule and can almost stick to it or find workarounds you can make this thing work.
With the 2 jobs and kids, I still find the time to fit in my business.
The Most Asked Question
The most asked question that I get is are you making money? The answer to that is yes. The other answer is the money you make is dependent on how much time you invest in yourself. What you put in is what you get out.
I attended a conference for one of our partners a couple of months ago a speaker was saying that. The worst thing that you can do is compare your results with others. That is the truest and most valid statement that I have heard that resonated.
Let me explain, if you are competitive in nature the need to do better than someone else will catapult you to work harder to be on top does that make you better no, it just goes to what is your why. On the flip side if you are the type of person that gets discouraged, because you are not where you think you should be, well that can be detrimental.
Comparing yourself to others is not what this business is about. You work your business at your pace. If you require more you do more. It is just that simple.
