Healthy Lifestyle

The excuses that we hear in the healthcare industry are: I don’t have time to cook, don’t have the budget to eat healthy or afford healthy foods. However, I have been doing some research on remedies to help with the many obstacles that people are encountering. First, let’s talk about the no time to cook a statement. There are a lot of trendy sites that teach you how to meal plan.  You start off with an idea of what you want your diet to look like for the week. Remember to add low carbohydrates and small portions. The way your body responds gives you a new lease on life. Secondly, the statement I can’t afford it, its a cop-out. There are plenty of grocery stores that offers a day for just discounted produce. Mostly it is in the middle of the week and covers low Carb Veggies.

Sedentary lifestyle

On the flip side, you have the person who does not do much of anything. The routine is Work and home and then free time is spent watching television.  This is going to take a little more work to change because people don’t want to leave their comfort zones. However, there is a remedy to that as well. Tricking your mind is the key.

“The Five-Second Rule”

We all know that when something comes to your mind that you know is beneficial to your health, there is hesitation. I heard a talk from a lady by the name of Mel Robbins and she called it “The Five-Second Rule“.  She states that in that first 5 seconds of making a decision your mind is triggered by hesitation. The hesitation tells your mind to protect you and that whatever the hesitation is, its too hard. Count backward from 5 out loud and that drowns out the hesitation. So, when you come home from work and dinner is completed, go to the gym, take a walk around the block. I even do a 30-minute beginner cardio video on you-tube. There are no excuses on how to better your self.

CoMorbidities

So you ask, what are comorbidities.? They are illnesses that your physician has diagnosed you with. Such as High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Peripheral Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and Diabetes just to name a few. Some of those diseases that I named are the major cause of deaths. A low-fat diet and exercise regularly will help maintain those bad diagnosis and lower your risk for a stroke.
